The range of treadmills available in the market today is nothing less than abundant. Sometimes selecting the perfect one for you can be confusing. You will be happy to know that a treadmill like the LifeSpan TR 1200i Folding Treadmill can be purchased with confidence.

It was crowned the 2011 Best New Treadmill and 2012 Best Buy by Treadmill Doctor. The 2013 model is also quickly following suit and trending to become a must-have piece of the year.

The TR 1200i is one of the many types of equipment produced by PCE Health and Fitness. Initially catering for over-55s and value conscious consumers, it has built its name for innovative and quality products. The company has been given several awards for its products and has grown to serve high-end home users as well as institutional customers.

Product Description

Simply put, the TR 1200i offers incredible value with its reliable performance. The piece has a generous walking surface, powerful motor, and some pretty advanced workout programs. Your purchase also includes membership to the LifeSpan Fitness Club, which is an online health management program.

Product Features

While it has all the expected features of a basic foldable treadmill, such as an easy-folding system, electronic display, handlebar heart rate sensors, and warranty terms of 3 years for parts, 1 year for labour, and lifetime for frame and motor, there are several features that separate it from others. These are:

  • Built-in Intelli-Guard™that stops the belt when you step off for more than 20 seconds

  • Intelli-Step™ that keeps track of how many steps you have taken in your workout

  • 17 preset programs, each with 20 workout segments and 3 intensity levels including the MyZone constant program and MyZone interval program

  • Large multicolour display panel and oversized soft-touch buttons

  • iPod compatible with built-in high quality speakers and a headphone jack

  • LifeSpan Fitness Club membership that manages health and fitness plan online

  • USB drive port allowing users to upload personal fitness data before a workout

  • 15 incline level, 0.5 to 11mph speed range

  • Large 20”x 56” running belt featuring 6 compressions shock absorbers for optimum comfort

  • Biomechanically correct deck suspension system that supports up to 300lbs

  • Measures at 39”x 66” x 33” folded, 33” x 54” x 70” open

  • Advanced 2.5 CHP motor

What Customers Are Saying

“I really like this treadmill. It is so quiet, all you hear is footsteps! I like the preset programs- although it does take a bit to figure out how to use everything. I love the quick speed buttons and the controls on the side handlebars! I like the website as well, to keep track of your progress. Overall great treadmill. I would recommend to others.”

Treadmill Doctor wouldn’t label the LifeSpan TR 1200i Folding Treadmill (2013 model) the Best New Treadmill for no good reason. Firstly, customers reported how the different approach of the Intelli-Step™ system motivated them more by watching their steps add up, when compared to just tracking time, distance and calories. The ability to control the incline level from the handlebars was also given the thumbs up from users.

The only drawback to this treadmill is that it can be heavy. If you’re not strong enough, you may need one other person to help you move it around.

Conclusion

Overall, the LifeSpan TR 1200i Folding Treadmill (2013 model) is a highly recommended piece of exercise equipment. A treadmill with a reputation as fine as this, I’d say you would definitely get a bang for your buck with this one.
